Hopy

Hopy is an AOL instant messenger plugin written for a Eclipse. Hopy uses TOC to connect to the AIM network. keep in mind this was written in 2002, predating GTalk :)

  • Supports logging the messages to an XML file.
  • Supports server-side buddy lists.
  • Uses the AOL TOC protocol instead of the Oscar protocol that AOL doesn’t want third-parties using.

Install

  1. Drop the jar into your Eclipse plugins directory. For example c:/apps/eclipse/plugins.
  2. Restart Eclipse.
  3. Open the Clock view by choosing Window | Show View | Other… | Hopy | Hopy.
