Frequently Asked Questions about the Mock Exam

  1. The mock exam does not work for me - what should I do?

  2. The most helpful thing would be to email me the contents of your Java Console. If you need instructions on how to do this, please refer here.

  3. How do I get started?

  4. You should login or create an account. If you don't feel like logging in, just press the "Bypass" button. There are two advantages to logging in:

    1. Your scores will be remembered for later sessions. The next time you take the test you may choose to answer only the problems that you missed the last time you took the test.
    2. You can target individual test sections. This allows you to focus on your weaker areas. For example you can choose to only be tested on Language Fundamentals.

  5. Why don't you provide explanations to your problems?

  6. I do. Answer all of the questions and then press the "Grade" button. After the "Grade" button is pressed, rationales are provided for all of the questions. See the next question.

  7. How can I "jump" back to the first question?

  8. Simple. After you answer all of the questions, you will be presented with the "Summary/Grade" screens. Simply select one of the numbered boxes to return to that question.

  9. Can I download a copy of your mock exam to use while I'm not connected to the internet?

  10. Currently this is not possible. However, you can load the questions into the applet and then disconnect from the internet.

  11. Is this mock exam harder than the real exam?

  12. Definitely. That was intentional.

  13. How can I email you?

  14. It's better to use the provided forms but you can also reach me here.
